About the Artist

Gerry Bergstein is a key figure in Boston painting and has been for over twenty years. During his studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in the early 1980’s, Bergstein was mentored by the renowned Boston Expressionist artist, Henry Schwartz. The guidance and inspiration provided by Schwartz lead to Bergstein’s inclusion among the great lineage of Boston Expressionist artists.

Gerry Bergstein’s work has been collected by major museums in this region and by private collectors internationally and was the subject of a mid-career retrospective at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park. He has been on faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts for over two decades.
