Clay Projects for Families

For Parent with Child age 5-10.
Work side by side with your child to create wonderful memories and exciting clay creations. Cheska Komissar will teach the handbuilding techniques needed to create wonderful clay containers, trays, and musical objects. Make holiday gifts or new family heirlooms (a honey pot and apple tray for Rosh Hashanah, a Thanksgiving gift or hot plate, a holiday ornament and more). Sign up for 3 workshops and save $5. Tuition includes all materials and firing. Fired projects can be picked up 2 weeks after the workshop. Limited to 10 pairs.

Color Projects for Families

Create paintings or collages in special workshops designed for families with children age 5 - 10.
Explore color, techniques and new ideas with artist Rachel Shuman.  Limited to 8 pairs.

2-Day Workshop - Papermaking for Families

Work with Jeanne Scarlatos to make your own colorful paper out of natural and recycled materials.  Return the following Sunday to create family albums or journals with your new paper.  Please bring dried flowers or plants (for including in the pulp) and family photos.  For adults with children ages 6 and up.

Brian Lies, Bats in the Library - November 2, 2008  

Meet children's book illustrator Brian Lies and see his wonderful illustrations for the book, Bats in the LibrarySee his BATSmobile!  He will talk to aspiring young artists and new readers about how he created Bats in the Library, answer questions, and sign books after his talk and during Drop into Art. (Books available for purchase in the Museum Lobby.)  Learn more.
