Art Classes for All Ages - Children, Teens, Adults

The Danforth Museum of Art's Museum School provides over 100 classes and workshops each quarter with over 50 part-time teaching artists who are dedicated to the creative process. The facilities, located on two floors of the museum building, include 8 sunny art studios, two ceramics rooms, a kiln room, a photo lab, a weaving studio, two student galleries, a Children's gallery, and, a reading area featuring panels from the book, Goodnight Moon. Over 1,000 adults and 1,500 children took classes during the last year.

Summer Arts for Children - 2008
Seven sessions of art exploration for preschool-Grade 8. Weeklong sessions begin June 23, 2008 and continue through the week of August 11, 2008. (No classes week of July 4, 2008.) Click to download the Summer Arts for Children 2008 catalog.

Pre-College Portfolio & Teen Programs - Summer 2008
The Danforth Museum School offers two levels of classes for high school students. PRE-COLLEGE PORTFOLIO classes are taught by local college professors and are for upper level high school students who are considering applying to art school and are developing their 2-D portfolios. TEEN classes are for students ages 13 - 15 who want to explore art concepts, materials and techniques in a creative art school environment. Learn more about Teen and Portfolio Programs.


Professional Development for Teachers - Summer 2008
The Danforth Museum offers several professional development courses for art teachers. Courses are offered the weeks of June 23, July 14, July 28, and August 18, 2008. Learn more about professional development for teachers available during Summer 2008.
